Our story

A band with a blessing

Before a Muay Thai fighter steps into the ring, they often tie a prajioud around the arm — a band of woven fabric, traditionally given by a teacher or blessed by a monk. It is a mark of respect, of lineage and of the ritual that surrounds the sport. Some fighters wear it only for the wai khru dance, others for the whole fight. Kong weaves the same bands by hand, in the colours of the ring, so that tradition can be worn and carried.

How it's made

Each prajioud is woven by hand from soft cotton in the traditional pattern, then finished with a tidy end so it ties cleanly around the arm. The colours follow the ring and the school's own.

How to use it

Tie the band snugly around the upper arm before training or a fight, as tradition holds. Wear it through the wai khru dance and the round, and untie it afterwards to keep it fresh.

Good to know

Which colour should I choose?

Fighters often carry the colour of their corner — red or blue. Choose the classic red and gold, the blue and gold, or the bright gold for the ring lights.

How do I care for it?

Hand-wash in cool water with a mild soap and lay it flat to dry. The cotton is sturdy, but gentle care keeps the weave tidy and the colour bright.

What is it made from?

Soft cotton, woven by hand in the traditional pattern and finished with a clean end so it ties snugly around the arm. It is lightweight and comfortable to wear.

Is each one the same?

Each prajioud is woven by hand, so the pattern and colour are consistent but carry small handmade variations. That is part of what makes it a craft piece.

When is it worn?

Traditionally it is tied on before the ring — often for the wai khru dance, and many fighters keep it on through the fight. Some wear it only in the ceremony.

What is a prajioud?

It is a band of woven fabric that Muay Thai fighters tie around the upper arm before a fight. Traditionally it is given by a teacher or blessed by a monk, and it carries a fighter's lineage and respect for the sport.
